Question: Credit Karma Score: 769?

I have never checked any of the pay ones.

Has anyone here compared their credit karma (free trans-union) versus the others ?

Answer: CreditKarma.com is a score estimator based on TransUnion credit files. It is sorta like FICO, give or take 50 points or so. It's close enough if you are just curious as to what your score might be.

If you must have your real score, MyFico.com sells FICO scores for TransUnion and Equifax. Equifax site also uses FICO. Consumers can no longer get FICO scores for Experian.

TransUnion site gives you Vantage (scale to 990 vs FICO 850). Experian use to give Vantage but seems to have something else that is a 4-digit number. Most third party monitoring sites use fakko scores.

It really is pretty hard to compare when so many different types of scores are out there. Basically, creditors look at FICO. So paying for anything else is a complete waste.
