Credit Score Clean Up

Question: What are some ways to clean up my Credit Score?
I want to buy a house in 6 months. How can I clean up my Credit Score? I had perfect credit but recently ran into hard times but, I'm getting back on track. Also I owe tons in student loans....Help me please.
Answer: Student loans are fine to have and keep. I bought my first hosue and I still have tons in student loans, even had credit card balances still too. The way to keep your Credit Score High is:
- Always pay bills on time
- Lower those loans that have high interest rates. This means credit cards espeically.
Honestly, you are probably not as bad off as you may think. See if you can get your Credit Report through Experien or Transunion and see for yourself.
Whether you can afford a house will come down to what your monthly responsibilities are in payments to loans vs. your income. That's all it is based on. But having a higher Credit Score will give you a better rate, and all that takes to clear up is consistency and time.
