Question: AT&T Credit Check Question?

I am currently with Verizon Wireless and was thinking of switching to AT&T. I signed with Verizon Wireless when I had an excellent Credit Score. Now I have defaulted on a few credit cards and my credit is down the crapper. If I buy a phone from AT&T at full retail price and get service from them, will they consider letting me sign a contract with them in the future if I stick with them for a while without a contract? If so, how long would I have to be with them before them considering a contract? Thanks.

Answer: To get on a post paid plan with AT&T you have to sign a contract which unfortunetly requires a credit check. But there is another option. If you buy the phone at retail price you can use it on a plan called "Pick Your Plan" it is a prepaid plan, no contract no credit check. The only difference is you are paying for your service before using it rather than after. It requires a checking account because the amout of the plan is debited on the same day each month. If you stick with this plan for a year and all payments are made you will build credit with AT&T and be able to sign a contract with no deposit required.
