Credit Score Check Canada

Question: I am new in Canada. I have a house under mortgage with Scotiabank. The house title belongs to me.?
I don't have any credit cards of my own. My credit cards are all supplementary cards from my husband. I have 3 joint bank accounts with my husband. We have never had any trouble paying our bill. I have once applied for a credit card and got rejected due to the fact that I am new here and I do not have any income to support my credit card. I have recently received a job offer that requires credit check. My question is since I do not much of credit history and got rejected for credit card, will I have any problem for credit check? Will the company reject me for any reason? I have ordered my Credit Report with Equifax, which showed my mortgage Scotiabank. That's all it showed. I asked for my Credit Score, but they said that the information is not available. I need this job badly. Anything I can do about it? Any advice? Thank you.
Answer: If you have joint accounts and you are on a joint mortgage you should have a Credit Score. The rejection is most likely due to time on file or income, not that your credit is "bad". The employer is not looking for the same thing as a lender. You should be OK, as they are looking for negative info such as judgements, defaults, collections, etc.
